The Rochester Chapter of the Coalition of Black Trade Unionist are individuals who are interested in learning more about our unions, leadership roles, volunteering, unity and improving the lives of our fellow union brothers and sisters in the communities in which we live.
In December of 1999 a few of our members attended the CBTU Buffalo Chapter Annual Conference. After learning about some of the goals of CBTU and their accomplishments we thought that this organization would be helpful to our unionized co-workers, friends and community. We developed a constitution, bylaws, officers and committees so that we may become an official chapter. In May of 2000, we received our Chapter status at the Annual National Convention in Atlanta, Georgia.
Since that time, we have been continuously working on the development of the Chapter and the goals we have set forth. Some of these goals are as follows:
We encourage you to attend our membership meeting, participate and see how we may assist each other towards our common goals. And by all means, visit our website to find out what we're doing and what's happening.
